55 friggin degrees already.....not good!

We better get some cooler weather or it's gonna be a short season........my understanding is they spawn around 60 or so...if it warms up too much more it might stop a bunch of fish further downriver....

    Ship, you getting worked up over those temps ?  They just got here, If the eggs are not loose yet they will spawn in 80 deg water. We still have a good 3>4 weeks of striper action...  I hate this HOT weather, It will put my brookies (not spawning) deep or at the springs.

    Yesterday it climbed a lot, we started the morning in 47 degree water, by 5:00 it was 51 degrees.

    Unlike herring arrival theories i am kinda in the dark on this...
     
    I know the eggs need to ripen before they spawn.....but i've also heard of years with no spawn due to temp issues............seems like if the water hits their preferred temp they are at least gonna stop moving north?
     
    Sounds like a good excuse to hit the river tomorrow at the buttcrack of dawn again!

    5am is quite early for some people but then again when it's the Hunt For Big Fish anything is possible.

    after tuesday, it doesnt leave the 60's according to weather.com, hope they're right.

    tuna i hear yah! and thpse ;ott;e pesty nat flies were swarming this weekend on shore..out in the boat was still okay.. gping to troll again in the am before hitting the bk and i won't be back here till maybe the weekend. glyall and keep safe!

    just try not to party too much and 5am is alot doable.. i screwed ip at least twice with those bl limes.. must be too much sugar in that crap.. i'm going back to bush..i get up tomorrow 4am to push off for a sunrise troll..i'll be off the lk by 10am! can't believe how fast this warm spell is getting 90s again tomorrow! sheesh o well lk is plenty cold .. bait be popping soon!
