Add One To The Resume

Picked up this hitch hiker on my way to give the steelhead one final spanking before they head back to the open water. Finally he gets to add a landed steelhead to his long list of species caught. Granted these were not those shinny chromers but still a giant rainbow and for the most part hard fighters.

so I'll let just some of the many photos do the talking.

First up, a jawless hungry fish

                     Ok, now your turn

First Steelhead landed in the record book

                     Now My Turn Again

Oh No !!! That dreaded tree I kept talking about
what a job it was but we got it done

Awesome day and I think we did well for the conditions we faced...

yup, all fish were on the Fly rod. We each went something like 2 for 5 if not more counting who knows how many others we think we had on and just got right off quick. Some of the fish were real leapers that just shot 3 feet out of the water like a missle and screamed like heck right towards the dreaded tree. Fun day. Hey Jimmy, maybe we can put a live herring on our fly rods for stripers ?  LMAO......

Super fun day on the tribs, Tuna...  Thanks for the lift out there and the sweet advice...

And special thanks for leaving out the story of that last Metalhead that took me into the backing three times, bolted 150 yards downriver, and tried to "drop back" all the way to the lake while still atatched to my leader.

That was the longest ten minutes I have ever spent in freshwater.  Might have been fifteen...

That was quite a run, and one helluva' a team effort.  I am still pretty emabrassed by getting "freight trained" like that, but that fat turd finally made it to the net.  Albeit in a net that was 100 yards away from the angler.

Those fish are awesome.  I can still see a few going VERTICAL in my mind...  But I don't blame them one bit-

I get grumpy during the post-spawn too...

JIMMY--- CONGRATS on that first steelie bro!  Looks like you're hooked for sure now.   I heard the conditions were awful last week too, good deal.  RJ is da man to put you where the fish are.

RJ-   Hey man when they released you from prison they gave you a free pair of waders?  I see it still has your prisoner number on it though.

blitz, just an ever evolving changing of the seasons. does the fishing ever stop ?

    NYY:
dude you would have creamed your waders if you had been with me the last 3 weeks up there. Sure wish you came along you whould have had a great time and I owe you a fish. In all honesty it was slower when NJ was there but plenty enough to keep us happy. I think I heard NJ say he figured 150 fish there, I figure maybe 100 but they were not realy active like they were.
