electric glo spawn

Can anyone tell me what material is used in the Electric Glo Spawn developed by Mark DeFrank that gives the fly that electric arc in the water.

Looks like pearl lite brite dubbing, I tie something similar using mcfly foam for an egg core and pearl lite brite dubbing for the collar.

http://www.defranksflies.com/electric_glo_spawn.html  Here's some info on the fly but of course they offer no recipe for it.  I have put a little crystal flash in a few of mine at times.

Why would there be a recipe for it?  Part of the guy's income is selling his flies.  I don't know what you do for a living, but in my business, we don't give out proprietary secrets for free.

Could be some kind of streamer material too, like wing n flash, but way sparser and fluffier than we're used to seeing.

D-nymph, didnt mean to get your panties in a bunch I understand he's selling them and have no problem with that. Any good fly tyer could probably buy one and figure out what he was using anyway but most likely he's also got a little secret in the tying itself.
If I was trying to hurt the guy I would not have posted the site for all to see.

    Sheez! anyhow good fishing.

Its just UV pearl Ice Dubbing or wing N Flash material mixed over Mcfly foam or egg yarn.. Pretty simple beginner tie. I seen this exact pattern tied years ago, Can't remember the tyer but it was at folly's and it was not this defranks guy I believe the origional name of the fly was called spawn X. just another spin on an basic egg redone 50 times over by 50 diffrent people.. Sucker spawn is all you need and some single small glo bugs...

Gander Mountain sells the flash material.  I've got a new bag of it at home.  If I get the chance, I'll post what it
    looks like.

pearl blue ice dub tie it in before you make your last spawn loop
or on a egg tie it in right behind the eye and comb it back as you do egg veil; remember fellas the eggs of these fish are 5mm to 5.2mm.

Cant take credit.... not my ties.....  got the pics right from defranksflies.com, the ones gannonsteel asked about.

Now I'm gonna have to tie some up and see how they compare ( and fish )  . .  I've never actually seen the sucker spawns with a flashy veil like that but they look like they'll work great when the fish are keyed to the colorful flashy stuff....  I bet the steelies will tear em up when the 1st runs start in the fall !
