    paying 2.25 dozen. Wal-mart has them for i believe 3.00 for 20.

You can get a flat of 500 from Poor Richards for $45-$50 thats what we do,buy a flat beginning of the year and one towards the end of the season.I have crawlers left over from october keep them cool and feed them majic worm food and change the bedding every month. There are some hugh happy happy crawlers in my fridge just waiting for the walleye season to begin.

We rarely use spoons for that very reason hate to hookup with steelhead all they end up doing is fouling up all the other lines.Everyone of them can go belly up as far as i'm concerned. We do use the heck out of crawler harnesess and sometimes renoskys tipped with a crawler, those eyes can't resist a big fat juicy crawler running behind double serrated willow blades LOL!

I remember years ago picking huge nightcrawlers in my local park , I am sure I can fill a big coffee can in a few hrs. I think this spring I'll make a small worm box for the garage frig too.. deffinitely save on bait also. 2 weeks and counting!

stay out of the stock market /big brother is on the take

Go to the local golf course and check the greens and tee boxes at night after a rain, you'll find hundreds of them.

Actually, I've had the best luck with partially composted leaves from the previous year.  Just keep them moist and replentish every once in awhile.  I can catch 15-20 dozen in an hour or two right in my yard, although I don't like to do this too often as they are very good for your lawn, and my back feels he!! the next day.

find a section of grass that no one looks at and poor a bunch of soap water..then check in a few minutes and usually you get a dozen or so..also go out in spring and pick up your own in a grass field or a parking lot at night after a good hard rain

Go to a park after a good rain when its dark and walk around with a dim flashlight, they will be everywhere just laying on the ground. I did this at a park on the northside of pittsburgh last year and got at least 15 dozen big crawler.

Gander had a dozen night crawlers for $1.99 or 25 worms for $2.99
    They also had spikes etc.

I picked up 20 dozen last night. Could have picked 50 dozen If my back would have held out. Never pay fer worms...wait for a good rain and grab em. If you don't have a yard, try your local baseball field.

I don't always snag fish, but when I do...
    I choose Little Cleos

carpin05,We made 1 of those when we were kids, blew out the fuse as soon as we plugged it in. That was lucky I guess, as we were standing in wet grass at the time. That was before GFI's, Never did find the nerve to do that again.     Kast master: Be sure to wash the crawlers off after you pick them up as the detergent will kill them if you don't.  sam

One tip to help the old backs.
I put on a pair of rubber hip waders and in a good area just shuffle around on my knees.
    Saves alot of bending over..
