pontoons

I am thinking of getting an inflatable pontoon float boat this spring.  I have never used one but have been thinking about it for a couple years now. Does anyone have one and are they easy to maneuver? are they easy to fish off of? and can you use them on moving water or just ponds and lakes? help me out guys and gals

Why walk on water when we've got boats?

They are easy to use, easy to fish from, easy to maneuver, and yes you can fish from both moving and still waters.  I own two Water Skeeters and have had them on...Lots of lakes in western Pa including Pymie and Arthur, Presque Isle, French Creek, Allegheny, Yough, some WV rivers, Pamlico Sound, and the Atlantic Ocean.  I have fly-fished, cast, row-trolled, and drifted out of it with very good success.  You only need like 3 inches of water to be able to move, so needless to say you can get pretty much everywhere.  You don't really need the electric motor IMHO, since it is a good form of exercise!!

Inc. a small anchor, a short tie line at the front of the toon for tying to a dock., also a rod leash to not loose the rod overboard. You can also use flippers to move you around. Prior to buying one look at the overall weight it can carry , inc yourself and any other items your carry. PFD.

Why not a sportspal canoe, i have a 14 footer and i can stand up and fly fish out of it with no problem. This way your out of the water the whole time, a good thing in the spring....Weight is 48 pounds or they were when i bought mine in 1972.....I've gone to electric motor the only thing i've done is rig the battery for the front of the canoe with a wire that's zip tied to the rib members that way it's very balanced and stable.
