I'D PAY $250.00 A YEAR TO FISH NYS WATERS!

COMPARED TO NYS FISHERIES, NEW JERSEY IS A SLAB OF CONCRETE! I HAVEN'T FISHED IN MY RESIDENTAL STATE FRESH WATERS IN WELL OVER 10 YEARS!  NEW JERSEY IS THE PITS COMPARED TO NEW YORK STATES RECREATION FISHERIES!

    Why ?

Do you think a large price increase would hurt local guides & businesses ?

Would you hire a knowledgeable guide and support the local economy if license & gas fees were very high ?

Duud, I think he was just making the point that New York water is the sheet compared to NJ. it's not very complex..

Tuna, yes, If it came down to it , I would spend 250 bucks for an anual non resident fishing license..And if I had the extra money I would gladly support you or any professional sports fishing guide upstate too. Tuna , I am only a licensed handyman scraping by just wanting to do what I enjoy most and that is fishing in americas great outdoors. I'm hoping the state will be using the extra licensee increases to preserve or even benefit what is left, perhaps better management for such natural resources is in the works. I do not think higher fishing license fees will have a negative impact on the fish or any fishermen. jmho

as I PM'd you and said , I was just busting your stones. Without a doubt higher gas prices, taxes & proposed license fees will impact the recreational fishermen. In turn the businesses, guides and tourism industry. Think about it .. when the belt or wallet gets tight what is the first thing done to reduce spending ? Stay Home .........

Tuna, that is exactly where corporate america wants their paying subscribers! staying home and spending their money on ppv video games and brain dead cable satellite ppv infomercials. Like I said, from one true fisherman to another, we will afford the extra 10 or 40 bucks to keep sane. I just hope the money will be put to good use in the states WMD and the states fisheries.
