Dear Fishhead Larry

Does this answer your question?

I hope you didn't buy a Boga. They are so bad for the fish.

No one buy a Boga, or similar device. They are harmful to fish!

1) Jaw dislocation

2) Internal organ damage if hung without support.

3) They're only Trout. No Boga is needed. Just hold in front of the tail, and GENTLY cradle under the belly. Ever hear of tickling a Trout? Same concept. They won't bite you!

Trutta have you ever been bitten by a coho? Dirty basstwards go out of their way to get you and the infection is a treat.
That said there is still no need for a boca.

KJH807Larry that image seems to follow you everywhere on the webs. Wonder why that would be?

Salmo I am sorry I got ahead of myself. First things first. Have you ever caught a coho?
They are much like pike or cudas in that they go out of their way to bite you as you remove a hook from their mouths. I guess there is a need to own a boga after all. If you can't afford one get a boca instead. Not many coho  trying to bite you down there.

No- never caught one, but I did learn early. Stuck my finger in a Bluefish's mouth when I was little. We kept fishing despite the blood. I'll be buried with that scar.

I was wondering what sicentific data you use that supports the claims of body damage to the trout. I found using a boga a useful piece of equipment, especially when handling trout of size. I usually never touch the fish and generally cut them off. Now, I'm speaking of Pepacton trout, where alot of us provide info in our logs which are submitted to the DEP. We need to identify fin clips for them, with big fish flopping around the side of the boat, in my opinion, using the boga is safest for fish and angler. For the angler less chance of tipping the boat reaching for a fish, most of us who care about the fish will not use a net unless it's coming home. I also see many pictues of charter capt's with their clients with fish holding them with some type of boga. Phishahn.

I stick the beer bottle in the fish's mouth. When I smash the fish against the tree it breaks the bottle too. See how to save vital energy?
