What caused the bloody fins on this walleye?

What caused the bloody fins on this walleye?

This was a nice fish except the dorsal fin was bloody and much of the flesh was gone, exposing the spines of the fin.  Any ideas what could have caused this?  There were no other marks on the fish.

    Looks like a net to me usually only gill nets do that i would have the fish looked at by the pfbc if it is still whole

    That looks like some sort of an infection, possibly from getting caught up in a net, but I think a healthy fish would have fought that off a little better.
     
    With all the slobs on the planet polluting our lakes and streams by tossing their $hit out a window, spraying pesticides and fertilizer, dumping oil and other chemicals down a drain, its no surprise that we see more and more fish disease. Pollution = compromised immune systems

    no clue what happened to him but kudos on an awesome job enlarging that section and the nifty oval things you put in.
