that it can.... thats what makes it fun. i got out of the marines in 99, drove a 5.0 mustang, was staying up at the lodge, fished all day in 50 degree weather, got up in the am to 6 inches of snow, pretty tuff to get out of there in the stang. i now drive a f-250 with 4 wheel drive, no problems now. in the spring it can get pretty crowded on the weekends, i would recomend camping if its warm enough. there are plenty of spots on Glady fork to rough it, no water, no power. there are some campgrounds in the area.

good. let's fish the cheat forks. i opt for just after the first feb. stocking as long as water levels are fishable. who else is in?

in the area there is Gandy, Glady, Bemis, Shavers, lots of tribs to shavers. the stocking shouldnt be important, there is always fish there. I would possibly be available the weekend of the 21st of feb, say friday thru sunday. camp or stay at the lodge?

I would probably vote to stay inside, the Alpine Lodge's phone number is #304-636-1470. if the cabin is open, I would rent that it sleeps 4-6 has heat and hot water. the lodge has a good resteraunt and the bar might be open downstairs as well........

I would love to go down, but I would perfer to go when the weather is a little better. Those people down there get a crap load of snow. Maybe wait til march or so. I have a jeep wrangler, but coming up outta bemis would be a be-otch with 1" of snow much less 2'. If I went down that early it would be an indoor stay for sure. I might be able to talk a coworker into it as well.

so whats the dealo guys?? who is going to make the lodging arrangements? who is defiently in, I dont mind reserving the rooms, but they generally want a deposit. we can gamble up until the last minute if you all want, but the nearest hotel/motel is in Elkins and thats a pretty good haul to the streams.......... let me know what you want to do, i am in for the 20th, 21st, and leave the 22nd. I generally try to arrive as early as possible on friday, so i can fish all day.

I called yesterday and locked the cabin on. So whos in? Whos out? keep in mind this is presidents day weekend, so we could potentially stay and fish sunday as well, and leave monday. the cabin sleeps 6, I have me plus one as of now......

BUMP!!!
I went down this past weekend, water was a little low, fished dry fork, rightly named, fished gandy(caught a few small brookies, fished glady(above the bridge, again low water, but found a few), fished shavers in the bowman? region, nicer water there, caught 2 but still not many fish. Id like to wait until they stock bemis via rail and then hit it up. Supposed to do it in april 2X. just an update for those who are interested!!!
