Cats in the Yough

I've been nailin the smallies on the yough during the day but at night the cats seem to have moved to new neighborhoods.  Anyone else looking for channels in the yough?  Haven't tried at daybreak yet.

I did real well on Saturday night fishing with shiners for catfish. From dusk until 10:30. It was the first time this year I made an honest effort to catch them. The sauger seem to be everywhere this year. I've been fishing there for 12 years now and never remember there being this many. I caught two last night while reeling in to check my bait. In the past 2 weeks, I've landed 14 of those toothy things. I don't think I caught that many in the past 12 years combined.

my buddy used to rip on me last year and call me the sauger king. i had to have caught 200 of those things last year in a 2 month span. if you wanna catch more of them go to the boston area, there are usually tons of them. thats actually about the only thing in that stretch except sheephead.

never really fished the yough for cats but when i was a kid we would catch some real nice channels from the mouth of turtle creek into the mon. i wouldnt eat any of them, hell i might even be afraid to touch them in that area but we caught a ton.

We did really well last year just downstream from boston when not in the boat. The ticket was usually chicken liver or hot dog. I did catch my nicest on the dog, although got numbers on the liver.

The Boston area of the Yough is loaded with Bass, Pike, and Muskie.  But Sheephead for sure!

must be me then because i cant ever seem to do good in that section. mostly a sauger factory for me but i do get the occasional odd catch like a trout or a smallie. i remember years ago we could catch a million white bass at the park down from the launch but it hasnt been like that in a long time. but yeah there deffinatly aint no shortage of sheephead in that part, i'll bet the farm on that.

The bites at the discharge has seemed to slow down as the water warms....Has always been a good spot for late fall winter and early spring for me.
