    I agree w/plnoldrick--looks like a grey-phase northern water snake.
I have no fear of snakes but those usually seem to have a nasty disposition & temper.

I hate snakes. I came upon him as I was paying attention to my fly line. I could not believe that he was trying to eat that fish.

After I took that pic with my camera phone, I went back to the house to get a real camera, assuming he would still be there.....he and the fish were gone. I can only assume he was able to eat the fish and was on his way.

tell me about it. i had to beat one of them with a stick to get it the hell away from me. he's lucky it was at north park or i might a shot the dam thing.

sorry, im not a snake man at all. i blame my anger towards them on the countless times i almost stepped on pigmy rattlers during my tenure in florida.

Healthy looking critter.....those water snakes sure like their fish. I've caught a few that died in my minnow trap. Sure are mean, nasty tempered things. I used to hunt them along creeks and shoot them with shot shells but I wouldn't kill a snake today.....too valuable a predator.

The world would be a better place without snakes in my mind. Something else will take over on the food chain for them.

I have caught quite a few in my minnow traps as well, there seems to be an over abundance of them in certain places.

I agree w/ you WallyCat, they are good predators and they're just doing what they're supposed to be doing- which is being a snake.
But they are mean, nasty ba$tards that seem to go out of their way to be mean and nasty.

Which is the reason they should all be eradicated....
