Elk and Walnut Status

I was curious on what the water conditions currently look like.  Is the Elk running high and muddy still? Color and flow update from any helpful locals?

And the roads.  We will be driving up at about 230am tonight.

I saw a few small trees/large limbs making their way to the lake in Elk this weekend.

Thanks for the info guys.  I did get to see some of the walnut/elks pics that were from yesterday.  I just wonder with the additional snow, if it was going to allow some streams to start clearing and settling done some.

I would not imagine that more precip would help the streams in any way.  If anything, snow as opposed to rain might hurt the fishing less, but I wouldnt go as far as "help".

Why would snow hurt the fishing less? Snow is colder than rain.
The colder the water, the slower the bite, IMO. I checked the gauge temps for the last 6 days, and the water temp almost directly indicates the likelihood that steelhead will be hitting. The warmest water was Friday, and I had one of my best days in the last 4 years.

Temps below - guess which day was the worst for me. Today, when it
snowed, or Sat. when it rained?

    Temperature, water, degrees Celsius
