Current conditions 11/15/8

As of 6:ooam current water conditions for all east side cricks. Class 3 white water rafting conditions. Bring paddles , a helmet, PFD , a wetsuit ,6man raft, and 5 friends  and have fun rafting.  I can only asume the west side is the same. With heavy rain and snow continuing through the weekend and into the beginning of next week there might not be much fishing for 4 or 5 days. Sad to say.

interesting to say the least - will the creeks blow out ? are they blown out ? 6AM blown report - 7AM east OK - 8AM west OK. internet boon or bust ? use common sense.......IT"S RAINING !!! I'm sure the gauge for Brandy is going to show a spike by 11AM and keep going. Bob Dylan said it best, "you don't need a weatherman to tell which way the wind blows". A pretty good bet 36 hours after the rain turns to snow we'll be fishing, until then, keep on watchin.....................Dave

I know that those reading this are not on the streams, but for those who are thinking about coming up to fish please remember these streams are small and most of the time not dangerous, but when we get a lot of rain, they can go from a trickle to a roaring river in a very short time.  Keep an eye on the water level.  Watch a fixed point, a rock, log, stick, or whatever and be ready to leave the stream if the water comes up. Always have a safe way to get off of the water if you have to.  Remember water is very powerful and it does not take much to sweep you off your feet and down stream.  Be smart and safe while you are having fun steelhead fishing.

Well if its any consolation you could always fish the Lake                                                                                                        Tonight
Northwest gales to 40 knots. Rain or snow this evening...then snow after midnight. Areas of fog. Waves 10 to 13 feet.
    Sunday
Northwest gales to 35 knots becoming west 35 knots. Snow showers. Waves 10 to 14 feet. Sunday Night Southwest winds to 30 knots becoming west 15 to 25 knots. Snow showers. Waves 10 to 13 feet subsiding to 5 to 8 feet.

I just crossed Elk about 30 minutes ago.  It was rolling pretty high at McKean.  Me thinks tomorrow will be pretty tough, but for the adventuresome in the crowd, high and muddy is not so bad.  Be careful.

At the top of the main page for this forum is a link to the fisherie site.  On the left at that page is a link for "Weather and Waves."  Scroll down and there is a link to the gage at lower Walnut Creek and another for Brandy Run.  Here are direct links you can bookmark:

Brandy Run is a feeder to Elk and would give you an idea of the probable amount of runoff occuring there.
