What a waste. A WCO could have looked at it and determined if it really was no good( probably was fine). If it was bad, you could have got a new buck tag.

ORIGINAL: chicken27 Maybe goose now i should be even right? Should be but like jlh said, you could have turned it in and got a fresh tag. The deer probably got hit by a car or something. Could have also had some kind of disease that they could have checked for. You never know. Also, very illegal to just throw a carcass over the hill.

Why did you not skin out the deer and see just what caused the puss???????? could have been a bad hit with a arrow and you could have cut that area out. I don't get it you put all that time in hunting and stick a deer see some puss or bruised meat And JUST THREW IT OVER THE HILL !!!!!!!! That there is just a WASTE like mentioed above you could called the pgc and had them look at the deer. Maybe it was just a tick witch i have see on quite a few deer i prossecessed and there was puss from were they dug in.

Cut his skull open and see if the puss is in there as well. My dads friend shot one last year that had a big sack of greenish puss between the skin and meat along the briskit. Also noticed puss around the base of his antlers, so we cut him up to find a big hole in his brain full of that stuff. It looked like it was draining down into his chest area from there. We sent photos to the PGC and they advised us to destroy the deer, but that it was not CWD or anything like it. So we just threw in the outdoor wood burner. *Note - Your neighbors will not be very appreciative when you do something like that* *Luaghs* Fortunately we are related to everyone in the area.

So let's see you are now done buck hunting for the year... rather than call the PGC you decided to forget about harvesting a buck.... So if you want to harvest a 2008 deer it will have to be a doe.... right??? I thought you did not want folks shooting does ????????????? Well well ..... we won't be seeing any post from you about a succesful harvest in 2008... MY BET ..... #1.. it isn't a true story OR #2.. he did not use his tag and will be out there in rifle season...

If it was me, I would have gone to the PGC with the deer, then gotten a new tag.

As you can see in the picture the tag is in the ear, report card was turned in, and this was shot in rifle season last year. Local game officer is the one that gave them the advice. I will not involve his or anyone elses name since the gentleman is friends with the man who shot the deer. Here are the pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Yeah the same guy that blew the jaw of a deer is going to be sending in a report card on that buck... and I can not think of ONE SINGLE person that would giver up hunting for a buck in rifle season because he was to lazy to call the PGC.... maybe he was not supposed to be even hunting ... thus No PGC coming to the house.... I won't believe he just gave up buck huntng for no " hidden" reason... did ya also notice the "threw him over the hill".. I think that violates the "properly dispose" rule This guy just loves breaking the law.... and bragging about it on the "net" a sportsman ?????????????????????? Also find it very odd he did not notice the "puss" while field dressing... or is he the only guy I know that takes a deer home without field dressing it ????

I did tag this deer i'm done buck hunting until next year.I will be taking my ten year old daughter on the first day of rifle season.I had no clue i could get a new license if you shoot a bad deer.I never even heard that before maybe if i wasn't a criminal i would of called pgc aint it DR.? I really don't eat deer meat mainly give all my deer to friend so it was big deal to me.Some of you guys act like you would strave to death if you did that.I will be back out in flintlock season trying to fill my doe tag.I was wondering DR. if you got a extra spot for me behind your house pm and let me know.

Sorry... Judging from your posts here you are probably not the type of hunter/person I would welcome here......... I have received several E-mails from guys here that have taken the time to write me personally and express their support and I have given a few some ideas of where to hunt in this area.. I can't wait to see if any are successful.... BTW... I just returned from a one hour ride thru Clear Creek State Forest and must say.. I saw NO deer at all... not even my pasture deer have come out yet ?????????????? Have no idea why ?????

That puss'y(not ****) skull is gross. I was at a friends camp in rifle season a few years back and a guy shot a buck the whole top of its head felt like jello. I think they cut back as far as anything nasty was, froze it and ate it. Dont think they died... they are a little weird.
