Brookie Boot Camp
This past weekend was one I'll never forget. I took part in the Worm_Waster Brookie Boot Camp. Instead of wax-on, wax-off, it was fish-on, fish-off. There was no paint-the-fence, but there was paint-the-outhouse. The location will remain a closely guarded secret, but the lessons learned will be passed down through future generations of T's. I have a whole new respect for the little stream running through the woods of my childhood home. The only difference is that there are no 5" long 4 year old brook trout living there that I know of. Hmmmm??? Obviously, we fished some bigger water, but it just wasn't like it used to be for me, before. Before I cast through tight openings between hemlocks into the short, shallow pools of the brookie stream, that is. If it weren't for a broken 4wt, it would have been the perfect weekend. So, I'll be asking around for someone to build a replacement, so I may stalk my way up another valley stream in search of Little Mr. Bighead Brookie.

Great pixs TT. How were the black flies? See any wildlife? Planning a trip in 2 weeks. A little roof job then fish. Glad you had good time.

Nice post and pics...my favorite thing in the world is a PA brookie stream. Sometimes I have these dreams that all the brookies are three pounds and take drag..............

Mika, the black flies actually were not that bad.(Thank you, deet) I did get to see sulphurs, drakes, and caddis hatching throughout the weekend. I'm really impressed with dry flies. I've just scratched the surface when it comes to all that, but I'm really hooked on dries. I'll be reading and tying until my next chance to go. I want to have as many choices as you see in the next pic.

If you thought we did some walking this trip, wait till next time. I've got a line on a remote spot. w_w.
If it has fins and gills, I'm there.
