LO Trib Cohos

I generally make 1or 2 trips a year to the LO tribs, and have had good luck with browns, steel, and kings. But, I haven't hit the cohos real well.

I was wondering if anyone would mind sharing some times or time frame when they have had some luck with them. I used to do well with them on the Erie tribs when they were around but the timing for NY seems to me to be a little different, either that or I am looking in the wrong places.

Thanks for the help.

Duud, you just have to be there when the hohos are running because a lot of times it happens so that by the time you're reading the report there halfway to the hatchery. They make it the other half way while you're driving up. They're there anywhere from late September to the end of October. I don't know how you're fishing but when I'm looking for hohos I'm looking in deeper water and usually fishing a big pink streamer. They like to hold at times in water that's slower and deeper.

There were a few at Burt dam this weekend, if you want to elbow in there to get them.  A few in the other western NY tribs too.

Speaking only about the SR in Ny,mid sept is usually when the hoho's run,but they run the river quick as mentioned. It's hit and miss,if you hit it it's fantastic,if you miss them there's always some Kings to play with.
