Lamson Reel???

Anyone her have any experiances with the Lamson Velocity Fly Reel??


Any and all opinions (good or bad) would be appreciated.

    From what I hear from alot of guides in NY say it's the bomb b!  That will be my next investment paired up with a Beulah switch rod!  Can't wait!!

    You cant go wrong with a lamson.  Silky smooth powerful drag with no start up time.  Lamson uses the same sealed drag system in most of their reels.  The hard alox finish is almost impossible to scratch.  The velocity was just discontinued too so you could pick one up for next to nothing.  Good pick in my opinion.

    Had a velocity in 2" and 3.5".  I would get the discontinued anodized velocity because they are dirt cheap on ebay.  My 3.5" jammed for some reason on a trip to Tampa.  Was able to work it loose but never identified the cause.  Very sturdy reel with a solid drag system.  They are no abels but you can't beat the price.  I would not buy the hard alox model just because at that price you could kick in another $100 and pick up a used Abel on Ebay....

    Thanks for all of the opinions. I should have my new reel in hand by the end of the week.
