any atretch better than others?

What I'm really looking for is an uncrowded stretch of water! is this to much to ask?  I'm comin up the 17th and 18th of Oct. I know this is the worst time of year with the crowds at their peak. Since I travel alone I'm not opposed to doing a bit of walking to find a place to wet a line away from the snaggers and lead chuckers. Any one reccomend a section that receives less pressure? send me a Pm if U do, and your secret will be safe. thanks to all!

Best of luck...we are heading up on the 10th for the weekned and will be searching for the same thing.  DSR at least has a "limited" number of anglers but will still be crowded.  The farther you get from the parking areas the thinner the crowds get but there are no secret spots that no one fishes  (that actually hold fish).

    Tight lines.

...just watch for the twitch and then bring on the thunder!

Well Hey, it was worth a shot!  my time is limited to maybe two weekends a season so I don't get a chance to explore the area as I'd like. I figure this time since I'm going alone I'll wonder off the beaten path and just try and enjoy !  thanks anyway

If you look at the maps of the river and just look at sections that have longer stretches between public access, you'll get away from the herds of anglers.  There will be fishermen around, but not in great numbers.  Of course, you may not be fishing the best sections either, but there's still lots of good water where you can get away from the worst of the crowds.  Effort expended in walking away from access points will get you away from lots of anglers and the slobs (so it seems) too.

I plan on bringing my tree harness and climbing rope and fish off that hanging roped tree dangling the cliff in the blackhole where it is packed crowded .. .. Bring climbing rope and we can rig our own scaffold off the cliffs! guaranteed to see dozens packed like sardines directly below!

Park at the Trestle and walk upstream(more like hike). Sometimes the bombed out fish rest about a 1/4 (maybe a little less) up. I hardly see people here even on Saturdays. If you do see someone you can count them on one hand. Another good area is down below Ellis cove.....I think they call it the Bovines. The area around 81 (above the bridge) is under fished in my opinion. All else fails fish Sunday......after the morning rush alot of people pack it up to head home.

Stress is just one hookset away from being gone.

Check the other threads if you get time. Basically the owners of the property got fed up with trash & now you either have to buy so much in their shop, or just give them money in order to fish there for a couple of hours.

I've been checkin out my map and the bovines looks to be the place to hit along with up stream of the trestle. Like I said I plan on a little hiking to find some space away from the idiots!  finding a fish here and there is just a plus.  thanks for the info

I've got the 17th and 18th and then pending weather for that weekend also booked the 24th and 25th, I'm thinkin maybe the crowds should die down by then also.

After next Mon the crowds will really drop----might I suggest you push that 2nd trip back a week or 2??-Salmon will be pretty much done--but so should the leaves be.
