Salmon river report for 9/20 ro 9/22

We fished above 2A bridge and had the place to ourselves all morning. handfull of hookups each and I landed 1 smallish but fresh king. made our way to town for lunch and a lookaround...WOW I have never seen so many peple there it was insane! We made our way up to the upper fly zone and the place was very crowded, did not fair well there. the rest of the long weekend was spent in the lower fly zone. Lots of hookups! landed a bunch of browns and we both had 10+ pounders on but couldnt close the deal and land them. Also landed 2 steelhead and on Monday I did finally get that big fresh male Coho, cant wait to get the pics back.
Bottom line is if you go on the weekend stay far away from the named pools or go to the lower fly zone. most people up there had success. Black stone flies or dark nymphs with some green, and white eggs were working well.
