Here comes that rain.

Here comes that rain we all have been waiting for.  I think it is still a little early for the fish to get far into the streams no matter how much rain we get but it looks like we should start seeing fish in good numbers over the weekend near the access areas.  Depending on how this rain tracks we could see just enough or too much.  A couple of my friends are heading up to a Gun Bash for Zem something or other and I might just get dropped of at one of the access areas.

Temps are dropping fast but even offshore reports are saying still not many steelies around?

Temps are still VERY warm.  Had a buddy out off the point in the last couple days and he said it was 55 degrees (prime steelie temp) down 100 feet!

All that probe rigger caught down there was a couple 'eyes.

Still all on the Canadian side?

The southwest has been pounded nearly non-stop today with rain.  Looks like Erie may get some rain this weekend but then looking dry for the next several days according to the weather forecast.

It just keeps pounding down, I wonder what the rainfall totals will be across the 'alleghenies' today and throughout the weekend.  The most in a long while.

We're getting drizzle at best right now.  I saw Elk tonight and it hasn't changed at all.

I've checked walnut once today and am going to check again here within the next couple hours cause the rain intensified about an hour ago

my guess is that we will have to wait for ike to roll through if it does.  it's still too warm.

As of 6 p.m. Elk around rt. 20 has not changed much from yesterday.  The color is getting murky, but the level is still the same.  Low.

just got back from checking walnut at the access again, and the water is a bit higher and a bit murky, but still not high enough yet.

I'm thinking if it rains overnight we might get a run...just might.  and that's being really optimistic

Come man are you serious ? Ike is causing deaths, how bad do you want the run to start. I can wait, I don't need a natuaral disaster to get me excited about the run. Priorites ????

I'm pretty sure he's talking about rain, not damaging winds and destruction.  You had to know that.  No reason to be so dramatic.  How about a low pressure system that continues to circle NW PA with significant rainfalls lasting throughout the fall season.  Sound better?
