BackChannel Neville Island

Well since the other thread was ruined, I figure I'll post here.

And to be clear we're talking backchannel, behind neville.

I've put in some good hours this week for cats. from 7-1030 at night. Averaging 3 fish, nothing bigger than 8 lbs. I know there's some big ones down there, I'll keep trying for em.

Seen some nice sized walleye caught there, along with some heavy smallmouth. Good friend of mine's neighbor caught a 34inch musky at the tube, free lining a creek chub.

Anyone else hitting it hard?

Try fishing later and/or with bigger bait. Most of the really big cats I've personally seen caught there were late in the night or early in the morning (after midnight).

We didn't get any big catfish, but had a ball with numbers last night.  I caught a nice 29 inch walleye to top it off.  Gotta love river fishing.  Never know what's on your line.

29 inch walleye must have been at least 9 pounds did you put it on a scale or two. I know the maint. man those scales cant be right anyway.

Yeah, the scale must have been off.  No wonder we're getting so many complaints about bagweights. lol!  Actually, deadbolt, it was 6.6.

I fished the back channel late this afternoon. We caught many channel cats all fifteen to twenty inches. Drove around to the main channel got a few bass and a soft shell turtle then i wacked another prop. The middle of the river drops from twelve to two feet. Lucky for me i was barely moving but it still will need repaired.
