thief on the Yough

I was fishing down by the Suttersville last thursday and a got to talking to a guy named Jared about fishing for Steelhead up Erie. He gave me his email address and took off. What I didn't know was he had grabbed my rod and reel off the top of my truck when he left.  I was changing from my wading shoes into my street shoes and didn't see him. He left his rod which was a Quantum Integra combo. I checked and they're $30.00 at****s. My rod was an ugly stick with a shimano reel that cost close to $90.00. All I can tell you is he is about my height 6'2"-6'3" and has an accent. He said he was Polish. If anybody knows this guy or sees him would you please give me a head's up.  Oh yeah, the email address was bogus.

A Polish thief who steals fishing equipment but leaves his cheaper equipment behind as a replacement?
    Too easy.

For $60 I would look for the guy whenever I went fishing again, but wouldn't post it on here.

Remember that for future experience Rectumitis!
Appropriate screen name for this post, though. Sorry about your bad situational awareness.

Yeah.  The name is appropriate at times.  This is one of those times.  I take it for granted if you're in the country and not the city you're among a more good natured people.  But not everyone you meet in the country is from the country.  lesson learned.

fisherman are a mixed bag, lost my fly box once on the Yough around C-ville, all i could do was watch it float away, till it was out of sight, so I figured it was all but gone, I was P.O.-ed so i got out of the water about a half an hour later and headed to my truck, where a older man was walking down towards, he asked if I lost a flybox, I was so happy, I offered him a couple to kinda reward him for his honesty but he declined, thanks again Henry....so dont stereotype, most of us are good ole boys

Don't bet on that.  Some hick stole my buddies catalytic converter in one of the most "country" of locations.  Bubba can be just as bad, if not worse, than a city slicker!

Well at least your rod wasn't bamboo, and the one he had in the first place wasn't graphite. Not that I'm downgrading a $90 rod (I have acouple real Nice ones from FishUsa) but it could of been worst..

Sorry to hear about your rod being boosted. But I think that urban/rural stereotypes just don't hold water. For instance my brother is a statey who got his start out of Bedford barracks. Hard to get much more rural than that patrol. The stories he told me about the crime drugs, domestic abuse and violence et al that took place in those villages and rural communities was no worse then what we here about on the North Side of Pittsburgh or West Philly. I would not draw too many conclusions about somebody's zip code. Just my two cents sorry again about your rod

If anyone knows Rectumitus, please get in touch with him and let him read what I posted. I see he is new to the forum and may not check it often. I want him to get his rod and reel back! By the way, this guy he is talking about takes whatever he catches with him.

That's the guy.  His Jeep sounds like the power steering unit is ready to go.  I want to do this right.  I cannot afford any trouble.  If you know any authorities up there it might help.  I have the reciept for the rod and reel.

    Thanks

About 15 years ago a little ~!@#$ named Randy ****** broke into my house one night and stole one of my UZI. model A 45.s while I was bartending.

It was mint condition with 2 barrels(one too short to install) a hard plastic carrying case and 5 clips-I even remember the serial # 00270

It is a shame what happened to him a few month later
