first trip for kings.

this will be my first trip for salmon. i drive to 3 hours to erie about 15 to 20 times a year for steelhead, and catch 100's. i know nothing about salmon. what should i use?? rod and # line?? i hear different things from different people. i use a 10'6 noodle rod and 4# to 6# Pline for steelies. what should i use and where is the best place for the big boys?? and the exact time i should be there for them??  any info would be great.

    just use your noodle rod.but put firer line 20 lb test and 18 pound tip you have fun. frog hair tip 18 pound . last year i had fun with them and that was my frist.don't let them run to far you lose them hold on and fight like hell have fun you learn real quik

    i cast a rattle trap and spoons and when i get nothing that way i use skane or sac fresh tied if at all poss i  use a 16lb and or 20 lb test and a 6 1/2 rod or a bait caster and ill use the 11 1/2 noodle rod

    I only use 10, or 12 lb. flourlcarbon. The reason being it's easier to break off a fouled fish & that does happen.
