New to South Hills..looking for good places to fish from shore.  Found Cedar creek in Rostraver township. Looks like nice stream... Has anyone fished this recently?  Have any tips where to fish it?

I'm pretty sure this doesn't get stocked.

You might want to try the Yough at Whitsett down 51 and to the left about 3 miles. Godd for trout, smallies and walleye.

Cedar Creek has some trout, but think they swim up or down river from where they are stocked (by local clubs).  This section of the river is pretty good for smallmouth and sauger though.  The bad part, is the channel is on the other side of the river.  They do not let you wade there either.  So if you do not have a boat, there are much better places to fish.  If you walk the bike path, you will find some o.k. places to fish from shore.  There is a lot of better places very close.  Scout around the towns of Smithton, West Newton, Whitsett, Perryopolis, Connelsville, ect. who have trout clubs that stock, that would probably be better starting points to scout from though.  The south hills is pretty limited for trout fishing.
