Weightwise, they usually average 6-8, or 8-10 pounds depending on the dominate year class. Time of year ( pre-spawn VS post spawn ) that you're fishing plays a part as well. I've caught a few in the 12#, and even 15# range, but very few. 18- 20+ are not un-heard of, but very rare. I believe the largest taken from Arthur, was 22 pounds.

Timmys friend caught one 43 1/4" & was 24lb. 10 oz. That was one turned in so I'm sure bigger ones have been landed from Arthur, ate or released.

Are you sure it wasn't a Purebred? There were some put in, in the intitial stockings.

I caught a 1lb smallmouth this weekend...  It did smack my Skitter Pop with a vengance!
 
Some of the ones that we ran into a few weeks back, must have been filled with eggs.  I wasn't sure if it was eggs or alewives.
 
If the weather holds up, hopefully get to see for myself, the post breed difference in a few days!!

Just wondering if the striper fishing is the same as arthur? What kind of baitfish can be found in the lake ?

Shenango has gizzard shad alot of them,with arthur having elwifes.I know that spelling is wrong.
