Precision Trolling Book

I just ordered the bokk "precision trolling big water edition"
I wasn't sure if it was better to get this or the regualr one.
I hope to learn a few things to increase our catch rate on Lake erie Walleyes.
Has anyone else used this book and has it helped?

the big water edition has the dive curves for jet divers, dispys, lead core, snap weights... it does not have the dive curves for lures. the regular percision trolling has the diving lure or weighted lures dive curves.

I have both and i would not go out on erie with out them. They really do help alot, takes guess work out of trolling. If you can pick up both by all means do that. once you use them, you will always use them.

The new "Pro Trolling" edition ( available at Fish USA ), has both I believe.

Man that kinda sucks.  I looked online 2 days ago and I did not see the Pro trolling edition.
It would be nice to see the breakdown on trolling curves for fireline and all those lures.
I did not see dips'y, jet divers, etc mentioned in the Pro edition description.
I hope I made the right choice.

The book is invaluable, but I rely on my own notes more.  I will put harnesses on and then troll different depths with different lengths of line until I get an accurate reading of where I am really at.  Most of the time the book is close, but I have found it to be off by as much as 8 or 9 feet, and when you combine that with speed differences it makes a big difference.  I like checking my own depths.

Better too far back, than too far forward.

What a coincidence, I also just ordered the bigwater edition.    I'm getting it to compliment my regular edition.  I love the regular edition for around here local where people rarely use divers and stuff, but I'm starting to use bigger gear more often so I decided to buy the other.

I would think anzomcik described it well but if I notice any other major differences when I get the big water one then I'll let ya know.

I am trying to find the one that has the dive curves for most of the crankbaits and lures.  Fish USA doesnt offer anything but the big water edition and the pro edition currently.

Any idea where I can get the one that has the most info on crankbaits?
    Thanks.

(I dont wanna get the pro edition since I already have the big water edition...That's too much money for me right now)

Cabelas doesnt have the 8th edition and the manufacturer doesnt either.  I will try Poor Richards on my next run up to the lake.  I hear it doesnt have much fireline curve info.  Thats a shame cause that is all we use.
    Thanks

I believe they give you a % to add to the 10lb mono dive curve to account for the thinner dia. of the fire line.  it has been a while since i looked in mine for that, but i am pretty sure they do. That will ball park you close enough for the curves that do not have the fireline curve, some of them have both curves for 10lb mono and 10lb fireline.
