The end of the steelhead season's got me thinking about one thing...

...NEXT STEELHEAD SEASON!!!


I think it's a sickness.  With deer, by lunchtime on the first day of rifle season, I'm already making plans for next-year's First Day.  With the chrome, the season is long enough that there's plenty of time to change things up, upgrade gear, and try new places.  But, I still can't wait to use some of the new tricks I learned in the Spring, during the early season next Fall.

    I wonder how many guys still have limits of eyes in the freezer from last year??

    Finished my last pack last night carpin'.  The opener can't come soon enough even though I doubt it will result in many 'eyes.   Looks like the middle of June again this year barring some really hot warm up that sticks with us for a while.

    Wish I still had some left ! Too many beggars here at work who like em and don't or won't put the time or effort in to get there own. Different program this year, I'm givin them directions to the strip district instead of my van. I bought a bigger freezer!   Dave

    The summer off from the steelies gives you time to tie up a bunch of flies.... and get read for the next season.  Don't wish it to get here too quickly.  I would like to enjoy the summer some and do a little fishing on French Creek for muskie and smallies.

    LoL I do...but i also already have a few new limits from port clinton i just recently added....

         Come on, there's the spring Manistee season in Michigan and upper Indiana.  You can go to Oregon or Washington state.  There is still a spring run of Atlantic browns in Maine or just hop on a plane for New Brunswick and catch some Ocean run steel or big bows and browns!  Over, OVER?  It's not over till WE say it's over! Did the US give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
