Sandy Lake

Quick question can the general public fish in Sandy Lake if so is with a boat, shore or both? My one buddies Dad has ice fished there before within the last couple of years just by parking and walking out on lake.

ya theres like a $3 launch fee. I'll warn you the water is usually super clear so i've had most luck late evenings or after dark when the jetskis are gone. ive only fished it for musky though so good luck

In the spring, when my pap was still alive, he and his buddies would fish it for panfish before Wilhelm started to heat up.  They liked fishing it but just didn't want to deal with all the recreational boaters in the summer.  They always did well on nice sized gills, crappie and perch.  Once the weather got warmer, they'd start fishing Wilhelm again for the peace and quiet.

Forgot to mention, the launch is by the swim beach in Stoneboro.

Is it still per person or just $5 per boat? About 17-20 yrs. ago it cost me $25-$30 just to go waterski with some friends.

    fryem,

My family has a trailer at Camp Wilhelm across the lake from Vacationland.  We have been camping there since I was born in 1975.  Started out tent camping with my parents when I was only a couple months old.  Learned to cast a spinning rod when I was 3 and have been panfishing, bassing and fishing for eyes on Wilhelm ever since then.

I believe it costs $5 to launch a boat, to ski requires paying to "swim".  This is per person, not sure how much, like 4 or 5 for adults.
