My opinion is the extra $$ for a 10 guage is not worth it if money is an issue.  The current breed of 3.5" 12 guages will jelly a turkey's head at 45 yards.  If you want the biggest and the baddest and a little more range, the ten is the ultimate.

I agree with DPMS- The new 12's are really nice. I lug an old Ithaca 10 but at 11-1/2# loaded gets heavy after a few hills. It's nice for that bird that hangs up. However my last three came at 22yds, 15yds, and 26 feet.

The folks I know who have them love them. Any good dealer can find one for you. I would like a new Browning but as my wife says ( You get all your allowed with the one you have) Women just don't understand that "He who dies with the most toys wins"

Hey ready2fish i looked at the new super black eagle 2.It's a really nice gun kind of expensive do.How much further could i shoot with the browning NWTF 10 ga. then the super black eagle 2.It's between these two i got my mind up.Also i was looking at choke tubes for the 10 ga. the best i can find is a .695.If i go with the super black eagle 2 i can get a turkey special with a .650.Does the 10 not have to have a tight choke or what?

To throw a little more s--t in the game go on the net and type in----why the 10 gauge shotgun is obsolete---some interesting reading on comparing the 10 vs 12.

I've got both the 10 and the 3 1/2 12 With steel not a whole lot of difference . However with lead there is a huge advantage for the 10 More shot and 10 to 15 yds killing power. Brand of gun has nothing to do with the ballistics. The new 3 1/2 's only advantage is its versatile can go from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 shells.
