New Brighton Dam

Went out Saturday evening to the New Brighton Dam, since Erie was a bust. Went with my father-in-law, we started about 6:30 quit about 8:30. Between the two of us we caught about 40 - 45 sauger, walleye, and perch. Not a bad opening day.

Where you fishing from boat or shore?  I used to go there all the time.  Haven't been there in about 5 years.  I would always catch walleye/sauger/smallmouth on minnows and jigs.  Might have to take a trip down there.

Do you eat the walleye out of there?  Are there any warnings?  Just wondering because I've always wanted to give it a try since its fairly close to home.  Thanks.

ShutupNfish- I'll eat a few of the walleye out of this river. The warnings are for fish that bottom feed primarily like cats. My opinion this area is becoming a good fishery. Stripers, musky, northerns are becoming plentiful. If you want to know where to go PM me.
