Lake Milton

This is free fishing weekend in Ohio and I figured I would make the most of it by possibly going to Lake Milton on I-76. Any help from expierience on this lake fishing for bass would be greatly appreciated.

I have only muskie fished the lake and like most others in Ohio, it is a mud bottom so theres not much clarity to the water.  Good Luck.

really a different type of lake.  many drop-offs and deep water bays.  the stumps off of point view and robinson point have always produced walleye and smallies.  (i haven't fished the lake in years, but i have buds who still do, the same places).  under the 76 bridge is great for crappies, vertical jigging on the columns, although they are probably shallow now as it is the spawn.  another point of interest may be below the dam.  the area between that and downstream towards newton falls has just about any specie you want.  water can be fast and somewhat dangerous, so be careful.  if you are boating, there is a ramp right on the east side of ohio 18.  deep trolling and leadcore trolling can be a successful way to find walleyes in the water columns.

Lake Milton is a very underrated Muskie Lake.  It has both natural reproduction and is now regularly stocked.

I usually troll it and follow the suggestions of all the locals.

No surprises when you see someone catch one as to bait, trolling speed and whereabouts.
