Loose reel seat help

Loose reel seat help

I have a musky rod that I built 25 years ago and used masking tape and cork for the reel seat. It has come loose and I don,t want to take my eyes back off to fix this. Is there a way to drill a hole and glue this?

    Does it slide? If so, slide it a little then put some adheasive on and slide it back.

    No slide , just wobbles with the reel  on .

    I've done some repairs by drilling a few holes in the reel seat and injecting epoxy to fill the void.  If done in the right spots, you don't even notice the holes.

    I fixed my Penn downrigger rods that were loose by drilling and injecting epoxy also. 6 years and counting... still tight.

    OVER THE HILL

    Some people are like slinky's; not really good for anything, but, they bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs...

    Thanks, that is what I thought of doing. I have diamond wraps and sure didn,t want to tKE THEM OFF.
