Last time down at the launch there were still big cement blocks blocking the lake acess. Anyone know if they have been moved yet?

I drove down there the other day and yes the ramp is clear to put your boat in . Im a bit curious though, the docks were not in and it looks a bit confusing as to how they were going to configure them. seems to be enough room for stageing prep work before you put in. Going to be interresting to see how much traffic its going to bring this year. Im a north east resident and it will be nice to have a ramp inbetween north east and east ave. I remember way back when shorewood had a ramp thats, 12 mile crick, for those of you who did not know.

The word is that you can catch walleye and bass from the rock piles or reefs around shades beach. Do you guys do well and what time of year? And how can you find the reefs? Depth Finders or maps?

The Shades Beach Boat launch is being dredged this week and as soon as that is completed the ramps should be all in the water soon. The big boulders that were in the water have been either moved or removed. Quite a bit of sand got washed in there over the winter. I watched them when they dug it out and they made it about 12' deep and the last time I was down there it was only about 6 feet deep in some areas. Once they dredge it out it should be a very nice set up. Quite a hike like it is at North East Marina.

I saw it for the first time yesterday. Saw it from the water so I cruised over to take a peek. The closest I got was maybe 100 ft outside the break wall, but as passing by the opening to the protected area, I was able to see that the docks are still on land.

That protected area looks very small IMO. Looks like there's barely enough room to turn a boat around let alone boats waiting for their turn to load up.
