hatches on clear shade creek

hatches on clear shade creek

any idea what the hatch is on clear shade creek? watched 2 golden trout today for 30 minutes right after a heavy rain launch themselves out of the water bout 15 times.

    Probably some emerging caddis.  Last weekend I saw, tan, dark gray, and green caddis on 2 different SW PA creeks.  Neither were Clear Shade.
     
    When trout appear to jump out like that they are usually chasing emerging bugs, most often caddis, especially in SW PA, as the bugs swim from the stream bottom to the surface.

    There's not many bugs on Clear Shade.  They may have been after midges or maybe caddis like D-Nymph said.
