bleeding fish

  I have heard several people lately talk of "Bleeding" fish when killing them to keep for eating. I ice fish right away when I am going to keep them, I would apriciate someone explaining how they bleed their catch. Do you really think it improves the quality of the fish?

    seems to work for me.  i turn fish over and cut the piece of flesh between the gill plates.
