Bob's Creek

Has anyone ever fished the upper end of Bob's Creek (the "wild trout" area) in Bedford county. If so, what sort of trout are in there (native brooks, browns)? I've fished the lower end of the creek awhile back but never the upper end. Thanks guys.

The upper end (lost children) has brookies and some browns.   Be prepared to walk.  I park low and walk up and fish my way back down.   I pop a yellow humpy in the pocket water.   No size but lots of fun.

Thanks for the info sagexp. I've walked the stream from the confluence of Rhodes Run upstream and you are right; it's a hike. I was more curious about size but you answered that. Thanks again.

I fish the children of the wilderness area on first day every year.  The only place i can catch real size is fast water seems like all the pools hold small fish.  I fish below the log jam if you walk to where the road leading in is on a pretty good hill there are less people and some good water.  They stock the breeders down by the bridge and its a mad house down that way anyways.  The further up the better.  If you get past the point where the two pieces of support cable cross then you wont run into to many people but the fish seem to get smaller

Cox`s monument gets pounded pretty hard. After the onslaught of first season subsides, you can catch as many natives as you like.

Thanks guys. I'm not too sure which log jam you're talking about and if my memory is correct right above where the cables cross there's a BIG hole. I can just imagine the circus around Pavia. I'm too old for all that silliness. I plan on fishing the momument area sometime during the first week, maybe Monday or Tuesday if the weather is as miserable as they're predicting. Thanks again guys and the best of luck to ya.
