I read the book from cover to cover every year. That doesn't mean I retain all the information because some of it rarely or ever applies to me so I don't retain it. Every once in a while I'll read some of the advertisements.

Most of it, I do.  The waterways I don't fish are things that I may or may not read about.  For the most part, I read about the species I target, or could hook into.  I do return to it throughout the year.

    I can't be EVERYWHERE Shut.

I must admit, it has been some time since I've read it cover to cover. I do refer to it frequently, and check the PF&BC website often to keep updated on any changes. I really do not mind responding here. But generally the person asking the question, could more easily visit the PF&BC website, or refer to their handbook.

The folks who read these boards, (or at least respond to them ) tend to be a bit more dedicated/commited than the average angler. So I don't know that I'll get a true sampling. I just think there are too many un-informed, or misinformed people out there. Too often, they ask their fishing partner, the guy at the baitshop where they're fishing or buy their license, or the guy next to them on the water. Many of whom are no more knowledgable, or up to date than the person asking. Thus misinformation spreads.

I read it when in doubt about a regulation.  I don't know if anybody noticed, but there is a coupon worth $10 off at****s Sports on purchases over $50 attached inside the regulations booklet.

changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes....nothing remains quite the same

    Spoon,
I try to read the reg booklet for every state I fish in.  However there hasn't been one printed for the states of confusion or dismay. What is the most fun is knowing  most of the regs and then asking questions of other fishermen.   The answers can be and usually are veery comical.  It just seems that sometimes I must just be going to creeks where the uninformed or uncaring  like to fish.
My main reason for reading the regs is because I don't want a fine or loss of my gear for an inadvertant breach of regulations.   But you are an excellent source of information.
BTW They just busted a bunch of guys down here for commercially harvesting spoonbills for the caviar.  When arrested the guys tried to say they didn't know it was illegal.  Yeah, and then why isn't everybody fishing for fish whose eggs are worth 500.oo or more a pound?  And why did your buyer only contact you at night?  These are probably the same type of people who check their "hemp" crop every night when they go to the river to fish.

bm, the****s coupon is used every year. They need to include more: sportsman warehouse, gander, cabellas , ect.. I would actually look at more of the book.
