Bluegill

Went fishing 2 times the past weekend to a good size farm pond that usually has tons of blue gill.  I didnt catch one.  Only thing I caught was a small mouth.  Is it still too early to hope for much success or could there be another problem?  I always assumed you could pretty much hit a bluegill anytime/anywhere.

They have been hitting ok so far when we go after them. It will get much better every week for the next month though for the bigger boys & girls.

Found that with the cold weather the past week, the bluegills in the small lake I fish went back a little deeper than usual for this time of year.  I was finding them about 4 feet down in about 8 FOW.  Last Friday I really had to try some different things to find 'em for my kids to catch.

By Sunday afternoon, it was a different story.  Many had moved into the shallows and were eating worms on every cast.
