Perry Township is planning on having their Kids Day April 29th as long as the river comes down. I have not heard of an alternate date yet. This fine group of guys stocks the Yough at Whittset.

Just a report, and trusting that everyone had a good time. Tubmill Trout Club had 211 registered youths at Our "Kids Day" May 12 th. Approximately 600 people in total attended the event. We had a tremendous sponsorship this year with donations from 205 businesses and individuals. Fishing was held at 3 different locations along Tubmill and Hendricks Runs in Westmoreland county. Updated photos still arriving and will continue to be posted on http://tubmilltroutclub.org under the photo gallery,"2007 Kids Day". A dedicated page is forthcoming including a PDF of our sponsor book. This book did very well and is a great idea as a fundraiser, it also gives sponsors recognition for their generousity. That is something that I believe is usually lacking at events of all kinds.

My 5 year old daughter had a blast at the Tubmill Trout Club "Kids Day", managed to land 2 nice rainbows on her Barbi rod and lost several others including a very large rainbow that spent more time in the air then in the water while she was trying to just hang onto her rod. Also enjoyed taking a little dip when things slowed down and too hot. Was very impressed by the size and numbers of trout in the section we were at and have never seen so many goldens at one time before and the people running the event were very friendly and helpful. We both want to say thanks to the club and the sponsers for all their dedication and hard work for a great day.

Thanks "springfed" glad you had a good time. From where did you come and what fishing location were you at ? How about that sponsor book. That sure went over big, 72 pages of ads ! The support for "Kid" events is great  probably everywhere. Check out the website and see if there are any pics of your little one. The night before the event we stock. We call it fishmas eve. Check those pics as well. I have the steeler ball cap on. There were so many kids I felt like i was santa claus ! If not, and you got some shots email them to the website and i'll post them. Make sure you send me names as well.

    Smoothy,
We came in from Monroeville and fished the Beuford (sp) bridge area I think. This was our first time visiting the area and was the first spot we came upon. Unfortunately we didn't last til the prize giveaway at 1 o'clock. My daughter joined in with some other kids for a dip in the stream so she was cold and wet and ready to go by noon. You can she part of her looking into the hole we were fishing on the right side of picture 112 on your website. The two girls in the picture are actually playing with one of the rainbows she pulled out of this hole. I do have a couple of pictures I can send. Thanks for a great time. Next year I'll have both girls with me since she was too little this year and more than a handful.

You fished along the cut stone wall at the the rock dam. I was the guy wandering around with a Steeler cap on, and I would have registered you. What is your daughter's name, you can email that to me via the club's website and i'll put names to the faces. Shame you missed the hoopla at the end of the day. The pictures just don't show how crowded it gets. Hope you had enough to eat too.
