Wonder if America will ever wake up on politicians being up for the task and make them take a test each time they run for a term, also put a age limit max that they can serve? This includes for any president candidates. We already know there will be lack of intelligence, bad backgrounds and so forth on some of the wackjobs that will pop up out of nowhere every single election cycle.

Heck, most established work places make a welder or plumber take a test before they will hire them even though they are certified, give yearly physicals and have surprise drug tests.  Some of these politicians  wouldn't get hired at Wal*mart when they do a background search on 'em.

Just a few examples of the screwed up Whitehouse and this is just on age/mental health, not too include the main crap show...

But surprise, surprise, musk and Trump are already screwing up the spending bill after Johnson had negotiated a bipartisan deal.

It enraged Republicans because once again, Johnson went behind their backs in committee and gave the 'Crats everything they wanted with a CR that covered clear up 'til March of '26. Had Schumer lickin' his chops and smilin' from ear to ear waitin' for it in the Senate. Surely you didn't think that schitte was gonna flush, didja?

“Everything the crats wanted” huh?

Like funding for healthcare for 9/11 first responders huh? Yea if I was Schumer I’d be “licking my chops” too because I actually think taking care of those people should be a high priority.

Apparently Trump and Musk and Johnson do not agree.

https://www.ems1.com/9-11...re-funding-from-budget

Never forget. Republican lawmakers did this.

It’s not a new program or a new bill. It’s funding. That’s what I said in my original post. I never said anything about ending the program. But if it’s not funded, what exactly do you think will happen to the program?

The program was originally established in 2011. Thank America hating libtard John Stewart for that.

A recent attempt to secure funding was in the stand alone bill that you linked, but it never got through the Republican controlled House, so that bill died.

Then the bill sponsors tried to secure the funding by rolling it into the CR that Trump and Musk killed, and Johnson capitulated because he’s got the backbone of a jellyfish. It was left out of the final version of the CR that ultimately passed.

It’s very nice that you are so optimistic that it will get funded *eventually*, but I can’t think of a single reason why the house should not secure funding for this right now, can you?

Also if you actually read the history of this program in the Wikipedia link you posted, it’s just one example after another where congressional democrats tried to pass legislation to take care of 9/11 first responders while republicans blocked it.

Oh look, more name calling. How MAGA of you.

So there is too much debt for Trump and Musk to take care of 9/11 first responders. But not too much debt for another round of Trump tax cuts for billionaires, even after we now know that trumps 2017 tax cuts caused major deficits and blew up the national debt during his first term.

https://www.propublica.or...le/national-debt-trump

Trump added around $3 trillion to the national debt by the end of 2019, that’s BEFORE stimulus spending for COVID. A substantial portion of that debt is due to the 2017 tax cuts.

So let’s just be clear about where this “unstainable” debt comes from. And you may think Elon Musk needs tax breaks more than 9/11 first responders need healthcare, but I’ll have to respectfully disagree.

I’m not the one complaining about the debt and citing it as a reason to not fund a healthcare program for 9/11 first responders. The MAGA guy is. So I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make.

I’m the guy saying that I believe healthcare funding for 9/11 first responders should be a higher priority for the federal government than cutting taxes for billionaires like Elon Musk. Do you disagree?

If there allegedly was no funding of 9/11 first responders, why didn't Biden and Dem Controlled Congress fix it. They had no legislative hurdles

Legislation to address to address the funding shortfall in was introduced in July of 2024. Democrats lost a house majority in the 2022 midterms.

Are you asking why democrats didn’t see into the future and foresee a funding shortfall that wouldn’t be apparent for two years after they lost a congressional majority? All while in the middle of a global pandemic?

You got me. I have no answer for why democrats can’t walk on water and see into the future. Consider this a MAGA victory against the fishUSA libtards like me.

Some to the point of coming to Florida to meet with him concerning these negotiations-and he hasnt even been sworn in yet.
