   Last thing I am worried about is Trump. I'm a retired white guy. Could care less if S.S. ended today or if the super rich pay zero Fed. taxes like he does, enough loopholes (AMAZON) in place already for that. Could care less what a president does within the LAW. Don't care if food and materials skyrocket. I have the skills and way tooo many tools/hardware/gadgets/guns/ammo/traps/ several million in fishing tackle/rods/reels and gardens/fruit trees/ wells that can easily have hand pumps installed/ close to 100 quality chainsaws/ all kind of lanterns/large cases of candles/fruit cellars/shelters, sucks being a hoarder and enough doe saved over the years so I'm good.
 
  Trump Loves to be Popular (remember his signature on the check you got? LOL!!) more than anything so when he makes a  move that is not received by the people well he can't handle it and changes his mind. 
 
 Going out to split some wood even though that's the last thing I need for a few years.

couple examples;
 
Less dependance on foreign countries for goods
(that alone helps insulate us from supply disruptions ala Covid) 
 
Well paying Jobs for folks not cut out to be bankers, code writers  and X-ray techs
Places like Pittsburgh, Youngstown, Cleveland and Detroit became chitholes when the "giant sucking sound" Ross warned us about happened.
 
I'm willing to pay extra to bring more manufacturing back. 
I firmly believe it's in our kids and grand kids interest

I’d say that on a list of sub-dog shiit quality cabinet picks, Chavez deremer is one of his better picks. As far as republicans go, her record with regard to actually supporting labor could be a lot worse.

But it’s extremely likely he’s just going surround himself with sycophants and yes men, so is she going to actually get to do anything other than simply impose trumps will? I’m skeptical, because every other signal from Trump and his cronies like Elon Musk has been decidedly anti-union and anti-labor.

For example if the Musk / Ramaswamey meme cabinet recommends the elimination of the NLRB and Trump decides to do it, then I don’t care who the secretary of labor is - The real agenda of the administration will be clear.

Since trump, and MAGA more broadly do not seem to have any clear ideology, it’s likely going to be “whatever Trump feels like doing” at any given time. The jury is still out on what the administration’s labor policies will actually look like in practice.

It'll be a few months maybe of striking this and that and making big bold shows of "Promises kept", then back to golfin. Can't fault him for that - get in where ya fit in Donny boy.
