Former Pig Pen

I see the pig pen property is posted.  Who owns the property and why doesn't the fish commission buy the property?  Isn't there over a million dollars in the erie stamp fund?  Just wondering.

Erie tax maps online show it’s owned by Fairview Twp. Which also owns the parking area there.

Couldn’t tell ya why the PAFBC hasn’t tried to do something with it though. My guess would be that since the township owns it, it’s probably not as high a priority for them as easements on streams right now to ensure future public access. Maybe down the road.

    But that’s just a guess.

Caught my first steelhead ever there back in 2001. Only time I ever fished in there.

I was told by a Fish Warden that this property is held by a private landowner that lives right there.  Is this not true?
