They suck and until Tomlin is gone they will be nothing more than a .500 team. He should have been fired 5 years ago.

Queen is what Bush was as a rookie, before getting hurt and turned timid. High motor, fast and able to cover. Those guys are typically smaller and not as strong as the more run stuffing LB, that usually get picked on in coverage. The guys that can do both are extremely rare, like Shazier was. They may get that with Wilson, but he was injured so often in college, who knows if that will carry over at the higher impact NFL? For what they paid for Queen, he should be able to do both. When signed many were saying this about him. He was lined up with Roquan Smith, who is dominating against the run and good against the pass. Which made Queen look a lot better, likely doing similar in slowing down a runner with Smith/others cleaning up. Steelers don’t have that guy to compliment. Ravens defense is now worse without Queen though.

Steelers making quarterback change for Sunday . Good idea, bad idea? I’m not sure. I don’t think Fields performed badly enough to loose his job as starter. I believe they would have won the game against the Cowboys if it wasn’t for bad clock management on Tomlins part.

Stat wise, hard to tell the difference between Fields and Pickett. Neither seemed to ever be the reason they won a game. With the Jets winning the Devontae Adams lottery, Steelers are likely going to need a QB that can be the reason they win. Not saying Fields can’t be that, but Wilson was brought in to be that and was that for a while. I’d be just fine if he comes in and crushes it.

I'd take Fields 10 tds & 1 int in 6 games compared to 6 tds , 4 ints & 2 fumbles lost in 12 games for Picket anyday of the week. As bad as they have been this season that would be 20 tds and 2 ints compared to the 12 games Picket played That is without Johnson also.

How many passing yards past two games? Guy is not winning games. He is a backup, better than Pickett backup, but backup. Steelers gave him a chance. Now they are giving the other backup a chance…

"Stat wise, hard to tell the difference between Fields and Pickett." I love ya man, but you are sounding like a politican He is a class young man. Last year we were lucky to (maybe) but not likley get one first down in the first half and not cross midfield until the 3rd quarter. Go catch some Perch

Having the 3rd worst punter in all of football worked out great with Picket. Even Bobby Walden avg. over 2 yrds. a punt better for us way back when.

Overall, I like what I saw from Fields. I think there is promise there. I think play calling was a bit conservative. Inconsistent OL staffing/play may have been the reason for that. I'm very interested to see how Russ does, and how long they give him to shake off the rust.

Crappy, you don’t happen to have a Fields t-shirt with his head imposed on Rambo’s body and a 4x8 sheet of plywood with “Fields is the starter” spray painted on your front lawn? Starting to sound MAGA for this guy…. Wilson is not my QB!!! Rigged!!!
Fields threw for 150 or so each of the past two games. Like it or not, that is KP level play. Doing it in the weak part of the season too. I’d love if he took off and proved without a shadow of doubt that he is the future QB, but he hasn’t. That is what he had to do with Wilson on the bench. If he was all they had, I’d be 100% support behind him and wouldn’t mind them taking some lumps in his development.
But they have a proven elite guy as well, who they brought in to start. It is time to see if his play is close to his prime. If he is, they have a shot to get beyond 1 and done in playoffs. If he looks similar to Fields in a game or two of play, I would be completely for them going back to Fields. It is a rough situation for Fields, but the Stillers were pretty transparent that Wilson was brought in as the starter. They would have definitely went back on that IF Fields came in and lit it up. He did not light it up.

Hey Fartknocker, when did I bring up Wilson? Knock off the rust in a few games? Did Dalton and Flacco need to knock off any rust? I saw the biggest Harris/Waltz sign ever down the road from camp this morning. The whole side of a huge barn in Trump territory. Must be a billionaire. Thought of your 4'x8' spray painted plywood yard sign right away!!! You sound like Fox News for Wilson... https://www.instagram.com/msnbc/reel/DBNTlyExAU7/

I’m Twitter, where the “truth” is spoken… This conversation is about Wilson likely getting the start. I’m not a proponent of either player. I want them both to crush it. I personally would have loved it to be Fields. He is young and potential future of the Stillers. His natural ability is off the charts, unfortunately that doesn’t always equate. His play has not been Super Bowl quality at all. They are hoping Wilson’s will be. I highly doubt it will. But I have no issues with them seeing if it is. Fields was not their first round pick that they owed it to themselves to give him time and take lumps as a learning process. They are looking for whoever gives the best chance to win as much as possible this year. Fields simply didn’t do enough to keep Wilson from showing what he can do. Wilson 2024!!! BTW, got to give Fields a ton of credit for how he seems to be handling it. I only saw one small thing. Him saying that he just hasn’t played well enough. Whether that is really how he feels, he is handling it the right way. Chances are likely high that he will start another game this year. Would be best for him to not have to deal with the media down his throat for “you said this or that”.

Okay, if you say so. I feel the same on the matter. I was comparing your Fields --- Picket comment. Fields 2025!!! If he plays much more this season he will cost the team more in next years draft. Can't get much of a better name than Fields for a football player. Way better name than Dic% Shiner, the Steeler QB before Bradshaw. Bubba is another good one. hoEp thiz hellps u oWt You have nothing on your plywood sign compared to the one down the road. The building must be 100 yards long. Better get to work!! Not in the work truck either

I think Pitt’s kicker at the time was Blewitt as well. Doesn’t sound clutch….
Imaging if Matt Carle was ever traded to the Calgary Flames? Hot Carle…

crappiefisher Go catch some Perch
No perch yet. I figure how long it has taken fall weather to show up, the perch bite is off? Supposed to get my brother, nephew and my son out next week. So might give it a shot. Was supposed to get out with a buddy of mine, but he had something come up. So I figured I’d give it a try solo. Tried doing some vertical jigging on some humps for eyes. Of course that didn’t amount to anything. One bite, enough to have me waste time trying again. Switched to finding some sunken brush piles and got about a dozen crappie. One at 12.5”. Most were 7”-9”. Not a great outing, but not too bad. More trying to just find a good pattern for when I take my crew out.

On this date back in 1969 Dic% Shiner was sacked for a Touchback (safety). Hanratty was sacked for a touchback before Dic% came in as a mop-up. Hope Wilson doesn't hold on to the ball way to long as he is known for. One of my sons fished near the church today for a little bit and got into some Perch & Gills. Water still very low. I've been at camp for the past 10 days and didn't even look at Pymy so far.

Wilson looked rough early. Bishop INT was big. Not as big as botched call on Fitzpatrick extra point call. 2 point swing, should be tied now.

Thought all scoring plays are reviewed? Should work both ways. Offence better wake up. Jets are down 4 defensive backs and we got the ball to start the game. Tomlin better put a good show on for Trump or he might work for MD's

Something about a softly thrown football. Dang. Russ looks good. Hopefully Justin learns that move. Still think they shoulda put fields in for the tush push play. Russ got it across anyway.

If Fields could learn the touch pass, especially deep ball dropped in perfectly, he could be the best QB to ever play! But, that is just showing the strengths and weaknesses of these guys at the top level. Once Wilson settled in, he looks like a guy that can be the reason why they win games. He looked like hot garbage early though. Can’t say he was why they won, still the defense. But the offense for the first time in a while, looked on par with the defense. Granted, half of Jets defense was in the injury tent… I would have loved to see Fields look like this, plus his legs, get him for cheap for the long run. But also would love a $500k per year job, getting BJs and grabbing ladies by their yummy meat too. But, I’m not a circus clown, so can only dream.

Hope Wilson can add a few more yards on his long ball. Pickens had to constantly slow down or stop and come back for the jump ball. George was the difference in the passing yards.

He dropped the ball or would go right through his hands and not finish his routs. Was in the doghouse and didn't play much in the Cowboys game because of his lack luster efforts. Go watch film from last nights game and past games this season on Pickens. Wilson didn't attempt one pass between the hashmarks all game. Think he is to short or just can't see the middle of the field.
