I went on a trip for 26 hours and this comes out.
Can humans hibernate? Is it possible for a human to dig a hole, go to ground for 6 months, and come back up?

I was recently in Ireland for about a week and a half and never read the news.
When I came home it was as though I was never away--same bs from the same people as though it was just overnight away,
Hibernation--perhaps for my brain and blood pressure lol

We went to Alaska on a cruise in August and I put my phone in airplane mode when I left the house and didn’t take it out for 10 days. Same experience as r3g3.

DAR-Wife and I have done 30 cruises to many places--have yet to do Alaska and it is on the radar screen-even though I am about 'cruised out' lol and have been doing land tours for the past few years,
If I did Alaska it would likely be RC--how was yours ??

The reason we went on the cruise was to get a day in fly fishing for salmon. The day before we were booked to go (and the only time my phone came out of airplane) they called and canceled. There reason — the water was too warm and they were concerned that catching fish would stress them to the point they might die.
Never mind that they die anyway. They said the they would refund my deposit, which they did, but had no answer if they would refund the cost of my cruise, because the only reason we took it was to go fishing.
Aside from that, it was great.
We took a 5-hour glass too train from Anchorage to Seward, where got on the ship. Fabulous scenery.
In Juneau we helicoptered onto the Mendenhall glacier and mushed a dog sled.
Get away from the tourist traps right at the ports and enjoy the semi-wilderness.
Long trip to get there though. Longer trip back when a flight was late and added 19 hours to the return trip.

If I had been less miffed, I would have asked them to just take us to the river, for the price of the deposit, to see the run, bears, and eagles, but I did not.

Thanks for the butt kick Dar Got the dog sitter today and finalize the Alaska trip tomorrow. NO CRUISE-NO lINE STANDING LOL --all land for a week and a half in late Spring.

I keep hearing about the lines on cruises, but to be honest, except for taking the cruise transportation to the ship and getting the ship ID card, we have never been in any lines on the 6 cruises we took with Norwegian.
