There was a time when issues could be discussed civilly, when facts, as opposed to opinions, were the norm but then bullies and spin doctors took over causing  participation to dwindle in this forum.   Fewer fishermen and women chose not to participate in other forums for obvious reasons.   I'll never blame FishUSA.   They gave us a platform to shoot the bull, to laugh and to cut up and gave us reason to get together stream side and on the water.   Sad but what once was will never be again.   We had fun here once and Facebook was never close to being a substitute.   Myself, I pop in once or twice a year.   There is little left.

One thing that deserves mentioning is that this site put a lot of us in touch with some great fishers, teachers and men and women with big hearts.    I left here a better person because of so many that I met and spent time with for a lot of years.

I wasn't around this board in the good 'ole days you all refer to but I was on some other types of message boards back then and it was very similar to this. They were great places to hang out and were both fun and entertaining, but over the years they lost their popularity and by now they are either ghost towns or gone completely. People just moved away from message boards because of newer types of platforms. Tech becomes obsolete very quickly these days.

I check in now and again.

I like to come here as fall is approaching to read any steelhead fishing updates or reports. My most anticipated fishing trip of the year is my week of steelhead fishing in Erie.

The only thing better than 1 day of fishing is 2 days of fishing.

K-Dog. Its been a while my friend. Made a lot of good fishing buds on this site in the early late 90's, early 00's. It was a blast. The message board was especially fun. Some of the battles were epic, and the posters were, well interesting. Threads including Great White, Karl W, Eastside Scottie and Egg Sac were always great reads. Its been years since I wet a line in the Erie Tribs, seldom visit the site these days although I still shop at FishUsa, the service is outstanding.
