Good article that properly compares the two calibers. Much better than comparing the .223 to "throwing a rock" or a trout magnet.
The "5.56 was designed to wound, not kill", is just a silly myth. The caliber was primarily created to lighten the carry load and to reduce recoil.
Jerry, a few years back you didn’t even know that shotgun shells had plastic hulls on em. I’ve seen quite a few folks who know little about guns and ammo this week show a picture of a 5.56 bullet and say, “There’s no way a bullet this big wouldn’t rip a person’s ear to shreds!” Because they don’t know that the casing stays in the rifle. I’m not saying a bullet did or didn’t hit Trump’s ear. But I showed the pics so that maybe some folks could see that it’s possible to get grazed by a projectile of that size in a very soft part of the body and not get torn to shreds. Which brings me to this. Close your eyes and think real hard now about your claim that DarD posted a silly myth … What will a lighter load with less recoil do in a combat situation compared to a heavier load with more recoil? Read some accounts from combat veterans and what they have to say about this load in combat situations.

I think you have me confused with someone else since I have been hunting with plastic hull shells since I was 12 (1973).

The smaller 5.56 NATO ammo was lighter so the military was able to carry more. The lower recoil allowed the shooter to reacquire the target faster between rounds and it also made automatic fire easier. The result was a more efficient combat weapon. It may have wounded many, but that was not the designed intention.

Dodd Frank got passed while Obama was the president. That was the most comprehensive financial reform legislation in the history of the country. It was a complete game changer for the financial sector. As far as whatever he said in 2012, you would have to link something more specific. Aren’t republicans constantly trying to deregulate everything? Can you name one example of when trump actually PASSED some kind of reform or regulatory legislation? I don’t know what “big tech investors are the major beneficiaries” is supposed to mean. Is that a reference to George soros or something? There are plenty of Silicon Valley libertarian tech bros that support republicans too. Elon musk has gone full mask off and he is all in on trump.

I wondered how it could possibly get worse than these two clown candidates. The past week has cemented this reality. Even if Hillary gets in, maybe slightly better choice than the corpse of Biden (my apologies of a bad joke if he actually dies by the time I hit post). It is like there are some uber rich guys sitting in a room, trying to put on some sort of ultra surreal reality show. What will be the next wrinkle??? Just like every other dope, now not distracted by all day fishing, beach, pool, beers, seafood and other vacation distractions, I’ll likely be tuned in. Olympics can’t come soon enough. Please God, have some sort of Steelers trade shake up or something newsworthy more than this chit show. Can’t it just be December politically speaking without passing up the rest of the summer and the fall fishing bite?

They don’t allow it. There is one, what we used to just call “tomboy” girl that identifies as “transgender”, but not as a guy. At least one that I am aware of, which about 1/4 of the top women’s athletes are as well... I’m pretty sure we all knew a girl like that growing up. “She’s one of the boys”, which is cool until it isn’t. Those girls were the best growing up. Until interest of just hanging out, getting dirty with the boys, changes to “getting down and dirty” with the boys and no interest from them, then mostly banished. Kind of sad for those girls. Guys turning into girls to have any sort of sporting advantage is ridiculous. Most, if not all sports have addressed this. NCAA got caught with their pants down with that cheater guy. But have addressed since. HS sports are making their way to catch up. PIAA is such a mess with so much internal politics that the board is too focused on their home districts and what is best for them, can’t seem to decide how to address this issue.

Yea… I see a lot of conservatives trotting this one out. Pretty weak criticism imo. A democracy is a system of government. A party is not the government, it’s a private organization. There is nothing in the constitution that says parties must select nominees by popular vote. Also, only the two major parties select nominees by primary vote, and they’ve really only done that since the 70s. For most of this country’s history, parties had other internal processes by which they selected their own nominees.

It's gonna be Kamala. I think she'll pick Shapiro or Whitmer as VP. Trump will debate, but it's gonna likely be "rules" that tilt in his direction, as the last ones went in Bidens favor, at least that was the perception. Let's not forget, as with Biden, Trumps old. In a debate setting, it's likely that Harris will dogwalk him. Same with Vance would have with Biden and yada yada. Eminem would swing if that was a real thing.
