Fishing Line

I was wondering what some of you guys were using on your reels.I tried a hard abrasion rersistant line but it casted poorly..then I tried a castable softer line but it seemed to birdsnest up in the guides?.....is there a happy medium line? I prefer 6 lb. test with a 4 lb. test leader.usually froghair

did you have too much of the softer line on? that will cause the extra loops to come off and catch in your guides. i use stren or berkley in the extra limp. find it is a dependable product at a good price.

YES..that may be the better part of it.I peeld off enough line so I had a 1/8 inch gap between the spool and the lip of the spool. It seemed to work better then.....I am using Berkeley also....I like it best so far....

I'm still a devoted stren person,i've used this from day one as a kid. For the salt i get into the ande lines. Never cared for the trilene or berkley lines.
