Artificial Intelligence: PROs or CONs

I haven't seen a lot of positive things yet using AI, but certainly it is going to be beneficial to education, business and maybe even medicine and pharmaceuticals. But already false generations may have contributed to election interference. Case in point:
In the Chicago elections in February, the election came down to two Democrats for mayor. (Republicans don't count in Chicago or Illinois, for that matter). The fight came down to Brandon Johnson, the Chicago Teachers Union backed black candidate, as he is a former school teacher and union organizer and supporter of "defund the police",  and the former CEO of Public Schools, Paul Vallas. There were some posts on social medias using an AI generated exact copy voice of Vallas stating it was ok if the police killed 16 or 17 black folks in the city. Though it was totally false, it went viral and thousands believed it was actually him making the statement. (Remember, if it's on the internet, it must be true, right)? Consequently, Chicago elected a mayor who is even much farther left of Lori Lightfoot. Did those viral posts hold sway in the election? Don't know, but something to think about.
Another AI generation showed former President Trump falling on stairs and being arrested by the NYPD when he was in NYC to give the deposition on the $250million lawsuit. Totally false, but it went viral, and therefore, it must be true, right? Another candidate being smeared using artificial intelligence.
Elon Musk is right! We need to proceed with extreme caution on AI, or as Musk says, it may well destroy the world. What could Russia or China put on Social Media to turn us against our government or sway our elections. Our own Government, Justice Department, and the FBI are already pretty good at it without using AI.

Never try to argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
