Words

Words are spoken, sometimes written. Often times we can only wish we've said more.
We have struggled so much in 2020. The covid 19 really threw us for a loop and so many didn't know what to do . Ourselves we tried to protect our elder family by avoiding in person contact. My mother and disabled sister live 100 feet away and we kept our distance trying to protect them. In retrospect, I wish we didn't.
Well about 3 weeks ago my mother was having difficulty caring for herself and most importantly, my disabled sister. We had to disregard anything we were told by the experts and care for our families. It was incredibly painful to see how quickly things changed in the past 3 months without being in constant interaction.

My mother passed away this morning with me and my wife by her side. My sister is now our child who lives with us and we will care forever. My wife who is a nurse will now become a stay at home caregiver.
Our heads are spinning but we are grateful the pain was short and she is with my dad and other sister in a better place then the heck on earth we are dealing with now.
The peace is also that they can all and always see our homes and family where they lay to rest and have built generations.
Time is far too short to let anyone stand in your way.

Peace and tuna

HT, I am sorry for your loss, and you are right... sometimes there just aren't words. I believe when the time is right it wont just be words that will help you get through, but cherished stories being shared and lessons being passed on to your younger generations who will miss her influences. I am sure you will find the right words then to share those stories and lessons. Her legacy will remain strong.

Thank you folks. Words not always need to be and thoughts also go a long way. It hits me most when I just sit alone and think.
    Memories are so precious.
Mom and dad did well in teaching about family values. My sister will take significant time to heal but she is surrounded with lots of love and zero worries.
Tuesday will be the hardest for her. We walked out back last night to prepare her on site and the heart strings pulled hard on us as well.
I won't dwell on this post anymore and thank you all.
Tomorrow we have to keep moving forward to process our livestock we raise for our future foods.
    Be well, stay cool.
    Peace and tuna
