Crooked Creek Info

Anyone been at Crooked Creek lately? Wondering if you can drop a boat in now? Tried to go there about 3 weeks ago but gate was closed on boat ramp road.

Is that the Virginia's Beach launch? I thought you could only access that if you were camping there? Is that correct or I am wrong? Thanks guys.

I thought they were referring to the Crooked Creek impoundment just south of Ford City... dumps into the Allegheny at the Roston Eddy Marina boat ramp.

As far as I know the ramp at Virginia's Beach is private for the campers, but haven't checked in years.

My son and I just took a ride up to Crooked Creek. Not quite a dozen trailers in the lots. Talked to a fellow at the launch who just trailered up. He gave it 6 hours, he said. 5 bass and two crappie. He was just crankin'. He said of the crappie, "You have to catch 10 to get one keeper". Could see quite a few folks from up on the high road down at the spillway. Couldn't tell if they were picnicing or fishin'. Water color looked a little off, but not bad.

Never try to argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
